NEW DELHI: IndiGo, India's largest airline with a market share of over 50 percent, is also the most punctual airline in the country, according to data from the aviation authority, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The DGCA has announced on-time performance (OTP) statistics for November 2022, and IndiGo has maintained its position as the most punctual airline in the country, with an OTP of 92.5 percent. The results reflect a close competition among airlines, although IndiGo has regained its position as the leader in punctuality after several months.

The low-cost carrier has long dominated India's domestic skies with its OTP, but has battled for much of this year due to different issues to sustain on-time departures. According to data from four major airports, IndiGo has once again been named the country's most punctual airline (Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai).

In March 2022, IndiGo had the best on-time performance, beating out other airlines with a 93.9% OTP. Air India, the second-best-performing airline in the country in terms of punctuality, has dropped one position since October 2022.

In October, Air India's OTP was 90.8%, making it the leading airline. In November, its OTP was 88.2%, placing it in second place. Vistara follows with 85.6% OTP, followed by AirAsia India with 75% OTP.
